Ghana Mission Work

Retirement is great but I have many places yet to visit. Beginning in January of 2012, I went on my first mission trip to the wonderful country of Ghana. Since that time, I have become deeply involved with the people of a small village called Aworowa. Helping people create their own visions and improve their lives is a great blessing. I have met some fantastic people and learned that we are all very much alike. We all want to raise healthy families, have good health, and feel that our work is rewarding. I have learned more than I can ever give. Doing mission work is fantastic, you should try it.

When the coronavirus stopped my South African Safaris in 2020, I did not stop planning. I turned my efforts to raising funds to build an orphanage for 70 needy youngsters in Aworowa, Ghana. Continuing my interest in storytelling, I completed my second volume of “Adventures in Bingo Bongo Land.” It is a book for youngsters 5-12 and adults who still have a kid in them but more importantly, it is raising fund for the much-needed orphanage. I love taking people to see the big game animals of Kruger National Park but that will wait for later this year. In the meantime, I continue to write and dream of seeing a better place for youngsters in Ghana. If you would like a copy of my two books, send me an email at barbjohn@chater.net. You will be becoming a fellow missionary support team member.
