Have you ever had a very unexpected occurrence that just came out of the blue but turned out to be wonderful? It is called serendipity and often occurs on my photography safaris. I had just one of those special moments when I awoke to find the morning cloaked in a beautiful mist. Everything was quiet, surreal, and magnificent. I immediately thought of the mist as “Ghost Mist,” almost spooky but at the same time spectacular. Another one happened just before sunset when I captured a picture of a Baobab tree silhouetted by the setting sun. In both cases, I did not know what picture I had taken until I returned home and began sorting the trip pictures. They are now a couple of my favorite memories. I’m sure that every safari participant has captured their own serendipitous moment. You can as well; come along.
