The World’s Largest Monkey

Baboons are the world’s largest monkey and are only found in Africa and Arabia. Being extremely social creatures, they are often found in large groups called “Troops.” They eat almost anything and will eat meat, roots and many kinds of plants. It is not unusual to see them catch and eat small animals as they have very large canine teeth. They share 91% of DNA similarities with humans. They can weigh up to 90 pounds with the smaller ones being about 30 pounds. The males tend to have at least 10 pounds on the females, so it is very easy to tell the difference between the males and the females when you are looking at them. Some of them feature a grayish coloring. Others are black or brownish. All of them have a white mane though that covers them around the head. You must take a close look at them to fully appreciate how their body all comes together. They are very strong and powerful primates.
